Angie LaPaglia is an artist, author, and poet living and creating in the beauty of north-central Oklahoma. She reacts to the experience of existence first with language, then presents that language in various media in order to create connections with the world and with herself.

Angie grew up as a poet, and her artistic practice developed organically beginning in 2016, when she seized the opportunity to present words in new ways. In a scroll-through society, she experimented with ways to encourage experience and interaction with language itself.

Since then, she has exhibited extensively in and around Oklahoma, including a year-long solo exhibition at 21c Museum and Hotel in Oklahoma City (2018 – 2019), and been named the Paseo Feast Prize-Winning Artist (2019) and Leap Coffee Roasters Featured Artists (2020 – 2021). Since 2017 she has contributed to collaborative and immersive art as a member of the nationally recognized, Oklahoma City-based art collective Factory Obscura.

A 2021 Oklahoma poet laureate nominee, her short-form poetry has been recognized as among the best in the world, as selected by a global panel of poetry editors from among 18,000 entries in both 2010 and 2011. In 2015 she authored 1, an autobiographical book of poetry and photography. She has written and performed original spoken word poems commissioned by organizations such as Factory Obscura, Marilyn Artus’s HerFlag project, the Paseo Arts Association, and others.

When she’s not writing or creating, she consults with non-profits across the nation, helping them to formulate and execute campaigns that raise critical funding to make the world better.
