romy owens is a White Oklahoma artist. She has a BA in Media Communication and a MA in Photography. Most recently, owens completed Oklahoma's first crowd-funded public art, Under Her Wing was the Universe. Prior to that, she co-led Current Studio, an experimental art space in Oklahoma City, with Kelsey Karper. Before that, she created The Unbearable Absence of Landscapes, a building-sized knitted mural created by more than 300 Oklahoma knitters. owens has had a dozen solo exhibitions, been part of more than 100 group exhibitions, and has received numerous awards for her art. owens currently lives in Enid, OK, where she is creating Sugar High, a temporary immersive art experience with a team of 20 Oklahoma artists. She also is a caregiver for a parent with Alzheimer’s disease.
